Schmersal
In September 1945, the brothers Kurt Andreas and Aurel Schmersal founded a company in Wuppertal, which initially manufactured electrical household appliances and then, from the early 1950s, switching devices for industrial applications such as heavy limit switches for construction machinery.
With the increasing automation of industry, the focus of development and production in the 1960s was on switching devices for mechanical and plant engineering, expanded to include magnetic switches and inductive sensors.
A milestone in the company's history is the safety switch AZ 15/AZ 16 with a separate actuator, which was first presented in 1980/81. More than ten million units have been manufactured to date and is known in many companies as the safety switch.
In the 1990s, Schmersal was one of the first suppliers of safety-related control technology and systems for safe human-robot interaction. With CSS technology, a new operating principle for safe, non-contact communication between safety sensors and their actuators was developed from 2002.
Schmersal develops and produces an extraordinary wide range of high-quality switchgears for the protection of machines and plants in industrial automation and lift industry. European Electronics stocks and supplies Schmersal Products, top Quality with Warranty and Fast Delivery.
